The difference between business requirements and functional requirements

I see business requirements as what the business WANTS to be able to do to manage and fulfil (the processes to meet business objectives).

As not everything that business wants is what is needed at the moment, a ‘living strategy’ with an exception of some core operational principals defining an organization.

And most business requirements change, sometimes quite a bit and often, under pressure of markets, technological progress, etc.

The Business Analyst can help build support systems robust enough to sustain the amount of changes in business requirements and implement functional requirements that continues to deliver the value.
